Tips About Loosing Weight

To loose weight there are things you need to know. You will find in this article some tips that will help you loose weight.

It is estimated that the liver performs up to 400 different jobs. It is the bodies most important organ next to the heart. It functions as a living filter to cleanse the system of toxins, metabolize proteins, control hormone balance, and produce immune-boosting factors. Other liver functions have a direct bearing on your weight loss efforts.

Each day your liver produces about a quart of bile that emulsifies, and absorbs fats in the small intestine. It is this bile that is the key to your liver’s ability to digest and assimilate fats. A lack of bile nutrients, congestion, or clogged bile ducts will hamper bile flow and result in less bile production. If you have a roll of fat at your waistline, you may have a “fatty liver.” Your liver has stopped processing fat and begun storing it. Only when you bring your liver back to full function will you lose this fat.

The liver also metabolizes carbohydrates and proteins. The liver has three roles in carbohydrate metabolism. First it converts glucose, fructose, and galactose into glycogen, which it stores. Second, when blood sugar drops and no new carbs are available, the liver converts the glycogen into glucose and releases it. Third, if your diet is low in carbs, the liver will convert fat or protein into glucose. It also converts amino acids into proteins that have a direct impact on your weight. Many proteins transport hormones which also influences weight. The livers primary role is that of a detoxifer of by-products of body processes, pollutants, alcohol, prescription drugs and caffeine.

Detoxification of the liver has two phases. Phase 1 uses a group of enzymes to break apart the chemical bonds holding the toxins together, known as hydroxylation. In phase 2, known as conjugation, attaches other enzymes to the chemically altered toxins. These enzymes complete the conversion, producing substances that are nontoxic, water-soluble, and easily excreted.
